Introduction
Indian Dental Association Of California (U.S.A) is a
Non Profit organization, comprising of Dentists of Indian ancestry. This
association was founded in 1984 by a few Dentists and has now grown to
approximately 350 members strong.
The principal objectives of this association are ...
A. Professional: To enhance the scope of dental practice by updating its
professional members through continuing education seminars and other related
activities. The membership can thus best serve the community.
B. Social: To create events whereby Intra and Inter Community cohesion is
achieved which will be socially beneficial. About 95% of the I.D.A members
are practicing Dentists. Almost all of them own their own practices and are
enjoying an upper social economic status.
C. As a professional organization, to excel and to uphold
the dignity of the profession. It
conducts over 50 hours of continuing education annually by hosting nationally
and internationally renowned speakers.
D. To protect
the image and the interest of the profession and its membership by working in
concert with other professional organizations and encouraging members to take
active part in ADA, CDA, local chapters, and AGD.
E. To preserve the unique Indian cultural inheritance by
having various social and cultural family events like Diwali celebrations,
cultural nights, picnics, cruises, annual banquets, and screening of Indian
movies, etc.
F. To guide and
help novices in setting up practices, finding employment, or taking board
exams.
G. To help the
needy through its charity drive, donation of professional services by its
members and by providing a forum for various organizations for their charitable
cause.
